NATURE BASED ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMMES
Jai Jagat International continued through 2020 even though the Covid pandemic stopped the international walk in Armenia. The international campaign has continued throughout to transition into a ten-year campaign 2021 – 2030 gathering new members and re-focusing the messages and the methods of raising awareness.
The international partners within Jai Jagat have come together as a global movement, based on revised convergent actions around Justice and Peace. These themes are broken down into Actions; Advocacy and Training / Learning programmes. The Jai Jagat UK is involved in Change actions and youth leadership training programmes in peace building and climate activism.
COVID DISEASE CAUSING HAVOC TO MANY RURAL URBAN AND RURAL WORKERS
Meanwhile, in India the Covid disease has caused havoc to many rural urban and rural workers and communities. Many urban workers lost their jobs overnight during January 2021 lockdown with no preparation or consultation. Most had to retreat to the countryside, on foot, on bus or on motorcycle. They were assisted by Ekta Parishad and other volunteer and charitable organisations to return home. They are now facing the harsh reality of the infectious spread of Covid to rural communities with little primary medical care, where few are vaccinated.
There is an important online fundraising event on July 10th with a Silent Auction by Indian artists; please support below.
